Dacia Duster Concept is Dacia’s first concept crossover. It was presented in Geneva in march 2009.
The concept car was designed and developed in Romania, in Renaut design centre Europe (RDCE Bucharest) by international design team.
I was lucky to be involved in the project as an exterior designer.
Project was overlooked by Patrick Le Quement former head of exterior design Renaut and Patrick Lecharpy head of advance design Renault.
Key people at the project: Stephan Barral (studio leader), Jun Okazaki(design expert), Paul Frigout (Alias modeling), Ana Zadnik (interior design) and many more peope from design team RDCE, design team of Renaut Guyancourt and D3.
Clean and precise look was the key focus points of exterior design. Emphasise quality and robust design was important for us, to showcase future of Dacia brand.
Car is asymmetric. So that from driver side car looks like sporty coupe with one door, and from passengers side it is more like an MPV. It is a unique product. Sporty and functional car at the same time.
This aproach gave us chance to make it look more lifestyle, attend new, young customers.
I designed car around aerodynamic concept. Sleek dynamic and low silhouette.
Functional bodyside architecture, guide air flow around the bodyside into a flying c-post. It is improve aerodynamics and give car fresh and modern look.
